House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who found himself at least temporarily left at the station while the Trump Train continued to steam on, took a trip down to Florida on Thursday in what appeared to be an attempt to mend any fences that needed mending.
According to the Washington Examiner, his trip was apparently a success, as the two reportedly struck a deal to utilize Trump’s legendary status and political street credit to help ensure that Republicans have more than a fighting chance at securing a House majority victory in the 2022 midterm elections.
A new pro-Trump political action committee released details of the meeting in a statement today, in which they indicated that the two would work together for the betterment of the Republican party.
“President Trump has agreed to work with Leader McCarthy on helping the Republican Party to become a majority in the House,” the Save America PAC said in the statement.
“[The Republican Party] worked very well together in the last election and picked up at least 15 seats when most predicted it would be the opposite. They will do so again, and the work has already started,” it added.

McCarthy confirmed the news in a statement of his own in which he vowed that winning back a Republican majority is now the number one priority facing the party moving forward.
“A united conservative movement will strengthen the bonds of our citizens and uphold the freedoms our country was founded on,” McCarthy said.
For those that were hoping for the formation of a legitimate “Patriot Party” as a third party option, it appears that this meeting was the final nail in that idea coffin. As fun as it sounds, there’s not a doubt in any reasonable-thinking person’s mind that it would cause quite the headache for several future elections as it would essentially split the GOP in half.
The meeting also confirms recent reports from some of Trump’s closest advisers, who have hinted over the past several weeks that Trump would be soon focusing on helping Republicans win in 2022, given his large platform and influence, even after he left the White House under less-than-ideal conditions.
