That old “rules for thee, but not for me” saying has truly become the Democrats’ catchphrase over the past year, as more high-profile Democrats are caught breaking the very rules that they would scorn you for in a second.
The latest example was Special Presidential Envoy John Kerry, who was caught with his mask down this week on an American Air flight, which according to the company’s rules, is a clear violation of protocol. Not to mention the fact that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mandates masks for all people on all flights, barring certain medical conditions, of which Kerry does not have.

He was not eating, nor drinking. He was simply flaunting Biden’s mandatory mask policy. pic.twitter.com/t1wDq9OtxD

Adding to the controversy, he was also sitting next to another passenger. If this were a Republican official, they would have already been labeled as a murderer or superspreader, literally. We’ve seen it happen over and over again.

But when Democrats get caught breaking their own rules — as President Joe Biden would say — come on, man! That’s malarkey!
And that’s literally the excuse that Kerry gave in a response via Twitter to the controversy surrounding the photo.
Feels like there’s some St. Patrick’s day “malarkey” afoot on Twitter. Let’s be clear: If I dropped my mask to one ear on a flight, it was momentary. I wear my mask because it saves lives and stops the spread. It’s what the science tells us to do.

Even though there’s clear photographic evidence, American Airlines issued a statement to Fox News which amounted to nothing less than a full defense of Biden’s special climate king, though they did give him a tap on the wrist.
“Masks are required on board our aircraft. Our team works diligently to make sure customers are wearing masks properly as they travel with us, and flight attendants pass through the cabin several times during flight to ensure compliance,” a spokesperson said. “The crew did not observe Secretary Kerry without a mask, and they were not alerted by other customers to a non-compliance issue. We continue to review the matter and we are reaching out to Secretary Kerry to underscore that all customers are expected to wear masks for the duration of their trip.”
Of course, at the end of the day, nothing will happen to Kerry. The man has no worries and can get away with momentary rule-breaking, unlike the countless Americans who have been harassed, fined and in some cases, arrested, for not wearing a mask.
