Joe Biden said Thursday he will ask Congress to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour from $7.25 per hour.
During his speech Biden said “there should be a national minimum wage of $15 an hour.”
“Nobody working 40 hours a week should be living below the poverty line,” he added.
Former Presidential candidate and NJ Senator Cory Booker tweeted “It is unacceptable that so many Americans work full-time and still live in poverty.”
“I’m glad @JoeBiden is making it a priority to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.”
