When you think of the modern Associated Press (AP), speaking truth to power doesn’t come to mind. In fact, the same is said across the spectrum of mainstream media outlets. The AP, and others, used their pulpits for four years to jump on the “outrage” journalism that became popular when Donald Trump got elected.
Instead of calling balls and strikes, everything Donald Trump did in office was “the worst thing since Hitler.” Traditional media blundered the opportunity to get to know an out-of-left-field candidate who beat the political establishment and thus really get to know and understand the everyday American.
We know that in the last four years, the media is responsible for creating a rift down the middle of our society. It’s not that traditional media is the only culprit; I acknowledge that everyone plays their part.
The media, for a long time, was the only institution that we had to be our voice against oppression. But, they forsake us to become the propaganda arm for the Democrat party. Whatever the DNC says is our new reality. The DNC wants an expert to agree that a porcupine can identify as a mockingbird?
They feed us lies and tell us it’s for our own good. I mean, come on, y’all, how could a middle-income white woman from the south be expected to research current events and make an informed opinion. It’s not that they think we can’t handle the task – it’s the exact opposite – it’s the ability for us to make an “informed opinion” that scares them the most.
Why give Americans the freedom to disagree with the “group think”?

They can’t, which is why, when a “journalist” holds someone from the Democrat party and Biden’s administration in particular accountable – for, well, anything – we tend to lap it up. Americans are hungry for the media to do its job again. We want to turn on news shows with excellent production value and names we can trust. Not the watered-down propagandized news that we deal with daily.
The internet went wild yesterday when the AP’s Matt Lee shockingly pushed back on a new Biden Administration narrative that they would be stronger against Russia than President Trump was. It goes along with the Democrat talking point; “Donald Trump is a racist Putin stooge.” The issue for the Democrats is that, well, Donald Trump is not a racist Putin stooge, and the American people know it.
It seems bizarre to pretend that Trump didn’t have –very – public policy efforts to get the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline from Russia to Germany canceled. Trump felt that it’s a no-brainer; among other reasons like the leverage it creates for Russia, having the pipeline canceled helps bring more customers to the American oil business.
During Ned Price’s press conference yesterday dealing with the success of Trump’s policies on the Russia pipeline issue, Price tried to present the “facts” in such a way to make it seem that Donald Trump’s administration or foreign policy was not responsible for the success, but rather it was Biden’s less than one month in administration.
Ned Price announces as if it’s the first sign of success that multiple companies have “engaged in a good faith effort to wind down activities” related to the pipeline.
The back-and-forth started after Ned Price said, “This is a list that includes over 15 entities, and it demonstrates that the legislative goals and our actions are having a good effect.”
At this point, it seems that even 20-year AP veteran Matt Lee decided he had enough of the lies and calls out, “Don’t you think it’s a bit disingenuous to claim credit for the 18 companies winding down? All of this work was done under the previous administration.”
Price – looking stunned at the unexpected push back – fumbles through multiple attempts at responding to Matt Lee before Lee interjects to say, “You guys have only been … in office for a month, right? Are you telling me that in the last four weeks, these 18 companies all of a sudden decided to say, ‘Oh my God, we better not do anything with Nord Stream 2?’”
“Matt, I am speaking for the —” tried Price.
“You guys are taking credit for stuff that the previous administration did, right? … Yes or no?” Mr. Lee asked.
“I am speaking for the Department of State,” Mr. Price responded, “the people who have been working this and the people who are working this now were the same people a month ago or the same people three months ago.”
Soooo, Trump’s people then. Good for Matt Lee. I mean, don’t get used to it because we likely won’t see a lot of this type of pushback against the Biden administration’s lies very often. Please think of this as the afternoon sun. Enjoy it before inevitably the new storm rolls in and blocks it out again.
